The C-MPV is built on the HEARTECT platform, which is also used in other Maruti Suzuki cars like the Swift and Baleno. Nissan India displayed three new SUVs last year, including Juke, X-Trail, and Qashqai, to selected media and dealership partners. The X-Trail is expected to be the first to launch in India by September, just before the festive season. The X-Trail will be expensive as it will arrive in India via the CBU route, but it will have a hybrid powertrain to keep running costs low. It will offer the company’s e-Power hybrid technology and will be available in both FWD and AWD versions. The X-Trail’s hybrid powertrain will offer two options: a 163PS, 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5L turbo petrol with strong hybrid tech, providing 204PS and 300Nm of torque in a 2WD setup and 213PS & up to 525Nm in a 4WD setup.
