Shilpa Shetty reviews “Taali”: Says “You Are Just…”
Sushmita Sen is getting lots of praise for her amazing acting as Shreegauri Sawant in the web series called “Taali.” Shilpa Shetty is really impressed with how Sushmita acted and she made a video on her Instagram to talk about how she feels about the show. In the video, we see Shilpa clapping three times and saying “Wah” three times before she talks about the show. Shilpa Shetty reviews “Taali “Whatever I will say, will not be sufficient to praise this show. I have binge-watched the entire season. I must say, it’s one of the most thought-provoking shows. I have become emotional.” ‘Taali’ is about the life of Shreegauri Sawant, who is a transgender activist. She has fought for the rights and recognition of the third gender in India. This community’s voice can’t be silenced anymore. The story is really strong and it makes you question a lot of things. We need to share, listen to, and celebrate Gauri’s fight. It’s important.”
Shilpa Shetty has high praise for Sushmita Sen, saying, “You are simply outstanding, Sush. You embodied the character effortlessly and your brilliance shines through, truly honoring the story.” Shilpa added a final applause, dedicating her words to Sushmita.

When asked about the possibility of a transgender person taking on the role instead of Sushmita, the former Miss Universe addressed the matter with The Indian Express, stating, “In a larger context, their perspective is valid. It’s time to select talented individuals regardless of gender, as per the role’s requirements. However, in this particular case, Gauri herself selected me. I was unaware of this show, had no knowledge about it. She ensured that the producers approached me for the role. I will forever be grateful to her, as it gave me a more impactful platform through her unique story. Therefore, this doesn’t trouble me, because it’s not just a typical narrative, but her personal journey. She possesses the absolute right to make her choice.” Sushmita underscored the significance of Gauri’s decision in shaping the portrayal of her distinctive story.
Shreegauri Sawant, a dedicated transgender activist and trustee of the Sai Savli Foundation Trust, has passionately served those affected by HIV/AIDS. The web series “Taali” is penned by Kshitij Patwardhan and skillfully directed by Ravi Jadhav. The production efforts are led by Kartk D Nishandar, Arjun Singh Baran, and Afeefa Nadiadwala Sayed.
