Google doodle game#6: Scoville Scale

Day six featured a game that was created to celebrate the man behind the Scoville Scale, Wilbur Scoville. The Scoville Scale measures the heat in different varieties of peppers. This game is more on the informative side as it gives information on the kind of pepper that Wilbur Scoville eats.

In the game, the illustration of Wilbur Scoville eats a pepper, then reaches out for some ice cream (the player is the ice cream), which is where the game begins. At each level (there are four) in the game, you play as an ice cream cone with three scoops of ice cream, and the aim is to throw scoops at the pepper at the right time to diffuse the heat and achieve the ‘hottest’ ranking.

Google doodle game#7: Loteria

Cinco de Mayo, or the Fifth of May, is a very popular Mexican holiday that commemorates the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in May of 1862. And as the lockdown has prevented people from celebrating, Google decided to celebrate Mexican culture by bringing back its Loteria Google Doodle game.

This Doodle game is by far the most interactive. It is very similar to Bingo, but instead of numbers the game uses cards, and beans are used as markers. The most interesting aspect of this game is that it automatically matches you with other players online and also lets you share the link to the game with your friends and family so that you can play with them.

Five Mexican and Mexican-American illustrators collaborated to reimagine many of the classic Lotería game’s artwork for the doodle — along with some new cards. The doodle also features popular Mexican YouTuber Luisito Comunica, who lent his voice as the game card announcer.

Game#8: Magic Cat Academy

The Magic Cat Academy was originally featured for Halloween 2016. In this game, you play as a cute novice magician and a spell-casting cat who has to defeat an army of ghosts. The purpose of the game is to save the academy from the ghosts. According to Google’s blog, the inspiration for the doodle came from a real-life black cat named Momo that belongs to Doodler Juliana Chen.

Players can grab a wand and help fend off a ghostly catastrophe to restore peace at the Magic Cat Academy. All you have to do is draw the symbols above each ghost’s head. Each symbol will cast a specific spell to defeat the ghosts. The aim is to retrieve the ghost that stole the master spellbook before it gets away.

Google doodle game#9: Pac-Man

Pac-Man is a timeless game. Whether you’re a Gen Z, a 90’s kid or a millennial, we have all played Pac-Man. It is the most fun game — simple yet somehow difficult to win. It requires a lot of focus because one wrong turn can make you go poof!

Google took us all down memory lane with the Pac-Man game originally released back in May 2010 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pac-Man. The grid in the game is designed to spell out Google. It also has an Easter egg — if you throw in another coin. Ms. Pac-Man joins the party and you can play together with your friend.

Game#10: Hip-Hop Game

Google took a trip back to its Hip-Hop Doodle from 2017 when they celebrated the 44th birth anniversary of the popular music genre. The game allows you to bring out your inner DJ as you drop some tunes and make some wicked beats on the dual-deck turntable.

The game features Fab 5 Freddy, the former host of Yo! MTV Raps, as the narrator, takes you back to the origin of the ‘break’ in Hip Hop and other stories before you dive into the game. It’s a fun and easy game, and Freddie is an absolutely delightful narrator.
