Celebrities who lied publicly
Like everyone else, celebrities are also human beings. Everybody lies from time to time, it’s just human nature. But words that come out of your mouth might haunt you for a long time before they are forgotten. It’s a little different for the celebrities though because when they are caught lying, it makes news and their words are never forgotten. Being in the public eye all the time has its own pressure and sometimes they might say things under pressure.
Irrespective of what the reason for a lie is if one doesn’t counter immediately, it is considered a lie. We bring to you the lies of some celebrities who were caught lying in Public.
Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal has been accused of lying in public several times. One of the most highlighted instances is his statement that he will never enter politics and pretty soon he did.
He has also been accused by political rivals that he committed to never give a ticket to corrupt and criminal candidates, and as it turned out AAP has a total of 44 candidates so far who have criminal cases against them.
Smriti Irani
Smriti was caught lying about her education. In 2011 she submitted an affidavit to ECI as a Rajya Sabha candidate from Gujarat stating about her educational qualification as B.Com. According to that, she completed Part-I in 1994 from the School of Open Learning, Delhi University. While in 2014, she submitted an affidavit to ECI as a Lok Sabha candidate from Amethi, UP, stating that her educational qualification as B.Com. According to which she completed Part-I in 1994 from the School of Open Learning, Delhi University.
Earlier in 2004, she submitted an affidavit to ECI as a Lok Sabha candidate from Chandni Chowk, Delhi, stating that her educational qualification as Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University, School of Correspondence in 1996.
Later she confessed that she did not complete her Bachelor of Commerce (Part-I) – a three-year degree course – from Delhi University’s School of Open Learning in 1994.
Katrina Kaif
In an interview, Katrina was caught lying about her age as she said that she was eight years old when the Berlin Wall fell. The Berlin Wall fell in 1989 which means she was born in 1981. But according to her records, the birth year of Katrina is 1984.
Kangna Ranaut
In 2009 actress Kangna caught lying about her age. It was revealed in her passport that her age is 28 and not 22 like she claimed to be.
Sania Mirza
In 2017, when a phone company had launched its new device, she took to Twitter to put up a promotional tweet. According to her post, she was claiming that she’s been using their latest android device and loving it. But she forgot that Twitter shows the device you post it from, which happened to be an iPhone.
Parineeti Chopra
In a promotional event in 2017, she caught to be lying about her childhood struggles.
In that event, she said that she was not financially well off while growing up and even faced ‘eve-teasing’. But she forgot that she is a public figure. Soon after her false statement, a guy from her school in Ambala took to social media to bust her claims in a Facebook post.
Gauhar Khan
She celebrated her 29th birthday on one of the reality shows Bigg Boss Season 7 in 2011. When Salman during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode asked Gauahar her age, she answered Salman said that she is just one year older than Kushal who at that time he was 28 years old.
Ameesha Patel
Ameesha Patel claimed that she had bought a 4,000 sq ft flat next to Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Mumbai. But the claim turned out to be false. She had only rented that property. Due to her false claims, the real owners of the apartment barred Ameesha from entering their premises.
