Alia Bhatt has been in the news constantly ever since her wedding. And she’s been trending lately with international swag. Fans have lapped up the recent selfie taken by Gal Gadot (tweeted by Alia) from the sets of Heart of Stone. Alia can be seen giving an affectionate hug to Gal Gadot with the beautiful backdrop of the sea. Alia’s casting in ‘Heart of Stone’ has already made news in March 2022, however, this time her selfie with Gal Gadot made big waves. Alia’s international debut was celebrated but not many fans know about Alia Bhatt’s intense character in Heart of Stone movie.
The Netflix movie made big news when Gal Gadot was signed up in Dec 2020. Gal’s casting was a declaration of how big the movie canvass is going to be. The noise in India, however, wasn’t much. And then the news broke about Alia signing up for a role in Heart of Stone. Heads turned and fans rejoiced – Alia was going international.

Alia’s international debut character is Maya Singh
While the plot of the movie has been kept under wraps, we know that Alia is playing the role of Maya Singh – An Indo-American intelligence operative. The images that we could curate from the internet indicate that Maya gets involved in a lot of action. She can be seen holding a gun, climbing, and in an action sequence in a desert.
Heart of Stone is an all-women spy thriller franchise led by Gal Gadot who plays Rachel Stone – An intelligence agent. Rachel is a part of a powerful, global, peace-keeping organization. As Rachel fights powerful enemies to protect an asset, Maya will be seen as her friend and aid. There may be an analogy between Maya playing Luther Stickell to Rachel Stone as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible franchise.
Jamie Dornan, Fifty Shades of Grey fame, will be seen opposite Gal Gadot. In the other cast, we will get to see Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi, Paul Ready and Jon Kortajarena in the movie.
Here’s a small trivia for the fans: This is the first time Alia’s going to play a character with her name starting with the letter M. Just a coincidence that it is also the first time Gal Gadot is going to play a character with her name starting with the letter R.
Will Alia leave a lasting impression on Hollywood?
With PC, Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya leading the way to Hollywood, one might argue that it might be easy for Alia to get a strong foothold there. However, more often than not, it has become a trend to use the hype in the name of Bollywood stars for publicity. But when the movie is released, the screen time of Indian actors is cut to an insignificant duration. However, Alia doesn’t seem to be thinking about it at this moment. Her baby bump is visible in the images from the film shoot. And it is just amazing to see that her pregnancy has no impact on her shoots. On the contrary, she is glowing and beaming with energy.
